In summary, the Sony XDM-52 lcd monitor is an excellent choice for your video needs. The base by the way is sturdy and the monitor has a good range in tilting up and down however, it doesn't swivel. There is a cover that hides them as well as they run through the base which also has a pop off cover to keep evrything neat. The setup was straightforward and the cords plug into the back of the monitor. However, one doesn't get and lcd monitor for the sound.

It's worth the extra to get an lcd monitor that has both inputs if you can as I have found the color is slightly better in dvi mode over analog mode despite many reviews that say there is no difference. The response time is good at 30 ms, anything higher may cause "ghosting" on the screen running games or high fps images. This assures enough luminence to get the rich colors in a photo. The Sony's specs are very good for lcd monitors with a contrast ratio of 400:1 and brightness of 300 cd/m (don't get anything less than 250). However, tweaking the color adjust settings and gamma settings on the menu gave me outstanding color quality and excellent looking text. The monitor's color graphics and text were very good right out of the box.
